The David Douglas School District recognizes June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month! We stand with and support, appreciate and honor our LGBTQ+ students, families, and staff.

On June 11, the David Douglas School Board read a proclamation that concludes: “BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the David Douglas School Board of Directors strongly encourages our staff and community to observe, recognize, and celebrate the contributions of LGBTQ+ people to our country, our state, our cities, and our schools.”

Some 20-25% of our secondary students self-identify as something other than straight, yet many of them continue to face harassment and bullying both at school and in our community. As part of our ongoing equity work across the District, we pledge to include our LGBTQ+ students, staff and families in our efforts to be fully inclusive of ALL.
