Counselors Appreciation Week (February 5–9)

Community  /  Employees Cookies for School Counselors

As we kick off this week, we want to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible efforts of our dedicated David Douglas School District counselors. They provide essential support that goes beyond the traditional classroom.

Our counselors are the unsung heroes who play a vital role in fostering the overall well-being of our students and staff. In times of uncertainty, our counselors lend a listening ear, offer guidance, and provide a safe space for students to express themselves. Their impact goes beyond academics. They contribute significantly to the emotional and social development within the DDSD community.

We encourage each and every one of you to take a moment this week to express your gratitude to our counselors.

Additionally, we are excited to share information about our Grow Your Own (GYO) program. This initiative provides opportunities for individuals within our community to pursue a career as a school counselor. If you’ve ever considered making a difference in students’ lives and contributing to our schools’ positive atmosphere, this program could be your stepping stone.

  • For more information on our Grow Your Own program, visit our GYO webpage.

Remember, our counselors are here for you! Their door is always open.
