Join us for public family recreation swim Saturday’s 1:30-3:30pm Cost is $5 per student and $6 per adult. Cash only if under $10.00. (Closed 12/14, 12/28, 1/4, 2/15, 5/17 & 6/7 for swim meets)

LEVEL DESCRIPTIONS:
- LEVEL 1: INTRODUCTION TO WATER SKILLS:
- REQUIREMENTS: NONE
- SKILLS COVERED: This class helps students feel comfortable in water. Activities include entering and exiting the water, learning to submerge mouth, nose and eyes, blowing bubbles, kicking, front and back float and self-rescue skills.
- EXIT SKILLS:
- Enter unassisted, move 10 feet, bob 5 times
- Float or glide on front and back for 3 seconds
- EXIT SKILLS:
- SKILLS COVERED: This class helps students feel comfortable in water. Activities include entering and exiting the water, learning to submerge mouth, nose and eyes, blowing bubbles, kicking, front and back float and self-rescue skills.
- LEVEL 2: FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS:
- REQUIREMENTS: Students entering this level must have passed level 1 or be proficient in all of level 1 skills. Must be able to float or glide and be comfortable in the water with the ability to put face into the water independently.
- SKILLS COVERED: Continue to learn basic water skills and submerging entire head. Begin learning arm strokes on stomach and back. Safety skills are expanded.
- EXIT SKILLS:
- Float or glide unassisted for 5 seconds
- Swim 15 feet on stomach and back
- EXIT SKILLS:
- SKILLS COVERED: Continue to learn basic water skills and submerging entire head. Begin learning arm strokes on stomach and back. Safety skills are expanded.
- LEVEL 3: STROKE DEVELOPMENT:
- REQUIREMENTS: Students entering this level must have passed level 2 or be proficient in all of level 2 skills. Must be comfortable in deeper water.
- SKILLS COVERED: Emphasis in this class is placed on front crawl stroke with side breathing and backstroke. Diving, treading water and self-rescue skills are introduced. This level is one of the toughest to pass and may require taking it more than once.
- EXIT SKILLS:
- Freestyle with side breathing for 15 yards
- Treading water for 30 seconds
- Back crawl for 15 yards
- EXIT SKILLS:
- SKILLS COVERED: Emphasis in this class is placed on front crawl stroke with side breathing and backstroke. Diving, treading water and self-rescue skills are introduced. This level is one of the toughest to pass and may require taking it more than once.
- LEVEL 4: STROKE IMPROVEMENT:
- REQUIREMENTS: Students entering this level must have passed level 3 or be proficient in all of level 3 skills. Must be safe and very comfortable in deep water as this class is exclusively in the deep end of the pool and will be regularly required to swim the width of the pool.
- SKILLS COVERED: Front and back crawl are reviewed at this level. Focus on proficiency and endurance is increased. Emphasis in this class is placed on elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly.
- EXIT SKILLS:
- Freestyle with side breathing for 25 yards
- Backstroke for 25 yards
- Breaststroke for 15 yards
- Tread water for 1 minute
- EXIT SKILLS:
- SKILLS COVERED: Front and back crawl are reviewed at this level. Focus on proficiency and endurance is increased. Emphasis in this class is placed on elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly.
ADULT LAP SWIM
- 6:00 – 7:00 AM Monday thru Friday
- 12:00-1:00pm Saturday’s (CLOSED 12/14, 12/28, 1/4, 2/15, 5/17, 6/7)
- $6.00 drop-in fee
- Punch card and passes are available for purchase
