David Douglas Mat Club
The David Douglas Mat Club will be starting on October 21st, 2024 and is open to all David Douglas school district students in 3rd through 8th grade.
Practices will be every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm to 730pm and will go from October 21st through February.
The fee is $125 per student-athlete. This fee covers a team shirt and your USA wrestling card.
6th, 7th, and 8th grade wrestlers can do both Mat Club and Middle School wrestling.

DDEF
David Douglas Educational Foundation (DDEF) welcomes everyone back to a new school year.
DDEF is a volunteer-led non-profit organization that focuses on the health, welfare and supporting educational excellence for all David Douglas students. Since its establishment in September 1991, DDEF has provided funds for teacher grants, the Kids Fund, the family calendar, scholarships, COVID-19 community food boxes and more.
Come join us to share your ideas and talents on how to raise funds, which programs/projects to support through grants and/or help choose DDEF scholarship recipients. Tuesday sept 17th there will be a Finanical Aid Night & FSA ID Workshop. It’ll be located in the library here in the North building of HS.
Tuesday sept 24th will be another FSA ID workshop. This will be held at the Career Center, room 120, which is in the North building of the HS.
Tuesday Oct. 8th there will be a FAFSA workshop in the David Douglas computer lab, which is also in our North building. This will be from 5pm – 8pm and there will be pizza for those Seniors that attend.

Multicultural Kids Festival
Join the David Douglas Family Engagement team at the Multicultural Kids Festival on Saturday, September 8th from 2 pm – 7 pm at Ventura Park.
The festival showcases the diversity of the people in our city, bringing kids and adults together to provide opportunties to explore different cultures and learn about different traditions.
Welcoming Week
The city of portland is a hosting a week long celebration to buid strong community support for immigrants and refugees. Join us for art, performances, information, and community discussions to all Portlanders. The opening ceremony is Friday, September 13th from 3 – 8 pm at Ventura Park. The second event is Friday, September 22 from 3 – 8 pm and Ventura Park.

ABOUT THE JOHNSON CREEK WATERSHED COUNCIL:
The Johnson Creek Watershed Council was established in 1995 by community members committed to restoring Johnson Creek, a vibrant creek with many challenges. Their mission is to promote restoration and stewardship of a healthy Johnson Creek Watershed through sound science and community engagement.
The Johnson Creek watershed is the largest drainage basin in the city, and is an important habitat for salmon, steelhead, and trout including several threatened and endangered species. The watershed spans 34,560 acres covering parts of two counties and four cities in the Portland metropolitan area.
*They removed 6.5 tons of garbage from Johnson Creek at the annual cleanup in 2023!
*Since 2017, they’ve fixed seven barriers to fish passage in the Johnson Creek watershed!

How to set goals, make budgets, and plan smart spending.
What bank accounts, digital wallets, and mobile payments are.
How to keep your money safe.
How borrowing money (credit) works.
How having a job can affect SSI/ SSDI benefits.
Where to find help with money and benefits through counseling.

Zenger Farm: Open Farm Nights 2024
Join us for an evening of community building and interactive activities at Zenger Farm!
Enjoy time with other local families onsite at the farm's grange and participate in seasonal activities, crafts and more. Open farms will run from 5:30 - 7:30 PM from January to May. This programming will pause from June to August, and then once again resume from September to December.
The main builidng, bathrooms, food and activities area, and one of the gardens are ADA accessible. The farm fields, wetlands, and children's garden are not accessible by wheelchair as they are on a hill and pathways are unpaved.
