Faces of David Douglas – May 2017

Employee: Kaylee Hazel
Job: Clerical Assistant
Works at the Glisan Center (MECP  program)
Started with David Douglas in July 2016

What is an interesting part of your job that people might not know?

An interesting part would be that I’m not always at my desk all day long. I go between both of the MECP offices, sometimes I’ll go to our preschools, and on occasion I’ve gone to stores to buy items for our classrooms or to pick up things for meetings.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I really enjoy the people I work with and knowing that I help them, even if it’s in small ways, make a difference in kids lives.

How does your job impact students?

I order supplies for our preschool classrooms as well as our staff in office that go on home or site visits with children. I make sure that substitutes are requested when needed and I assist our administrators with many day to day tasks. I may not work directly with students everyday but I help make sure that those who do, have what they need to teach.
Where else have you worked in the  district?
This is my first job with the David Douglas School District.
