FACT Oregon empowers families, youth, and communities to navigate disability systems, advocating together for disability justice and policy change so that people with disabilities have what they need to thrive at home, in school, and in their communities. They offer 1-1 support for families seeking assistance in special education and with questions surrounding early childhood, intellectual and developmental disability services, behavior and communication. They also host trainings across a wide variety of topics with their most popular sessions available on demand to watch at any time.


Hero Kids Registry is a voluntary, no-cost system that lets any Oregon family share critical information about their child’s health before an emergency. The information can be quickly and easily accessed by emergency medical services (EMS) and hospital emergency department (ED) providers, so that they have the information they need, when they need it. This can be especially helpful for young people with complicated or chronic health conditions, and for those who experience developmental disabilities or mental health conditions.


Impact NW helps prevent homelessness by partnering with people navigating their journey to stability and opportunity. If they are unable to meet your needs, they make every effort to connect you with someone who can. They have connections to services and program to help with housing & energy assistance, youth & family services, early childhood services and more. The Northwest Down Syndrome Association was founded by and for parents of children with Down syndrome. NWDSA’s mission is to create and nurture a loving and inclusive community celebrating every person with Down syndrome. NWDSA.org provides resources for families including new & expectant parent support, facts/myths/truths, fun family events, and more.


The Oregon Family to Family Health Information Center supports families and caregivers of children with special health needs when navigating complex health care systems. Staffed by parents of children and youth with a variety of health conditions, they provide free one-on-one support, training, and printed materials to families and professionals who serve them. Their website houses hundreds of resources for parents, grandparents, and youth.


Swindells Resource Center supports parents and caregivers of children who have special health, behavioral or developmental needs. They provide video resources, information and education to communities throughout Oregon and SW Washington.


Zero to Three works to ensure that all babies and toddlers have a strong start in life. Children don’t come with a manual, but fortunately, parents can turn to Zero to Three child resources for up-to-date caregiving information and support.
