Do you have concerns about your child?

Do you have concerns about how your child walks, talks, hears, sees, plays with toys or responds to others? The Oregon Department of Education created brochures that not only provide a brief explanation of EI/ECSE, but also include information about when to call if you have concerns, who can make a referral, and which local referral and evaluation agency to contact in your area. Their brochures are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic and Russian.

Referral Brochures:

The Multnomah Early Childhood Program has referral brochures available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Chinese, and Somali. These brochures help explain the referral and evaluation processes. They also explain what will happen next if your child qualifies for Early Intervention or Early Childhood Special Education Services.

Child Development Screening Tool

Visit the Oregon Screening Project website to complete a free online screening designed to help parents check their child’s developmental milestones.

Please note that this is a confidential, free online tool that is also part of an ongoing research study. No personally identifying information is required to check your child’s development using this site. The completed questionnaire(s) and results are not automatically sent to any other provider or practitioner. If you do want to share the results with an Early Intervention Provider, your child’s daycare person, your pediatrician or other, you can easily “forward” to anyone from your own email at your convenience.

The Multnomah Early Childhood Program also offers paper copies of the ASQ screening tool in the following languages: English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Arabic. Please call us at 503-261-5535 if you would like a copy in one of these languages.
