Did you know…

  • Nutrition Services makes several items from scratch at our Central Kitchen including, muffins, rolls, bread sticks, cinnamon rolls, spaghetti, and lasagna.
  • Every fall we feature locally grown apples from Kiyokawa Family Orchards in Parkdale.
  • David Douglas students can find more healthy choices on the cafeteria variety bars each school day.
  • Our breakfast program helps students start their day with the nutrition they need to succeed.
  • Research shows students who eat a healthy breakfast perform better in school. That’s why David Douglas is making it easy for students to get school breakfasts that meet federal nutrition standards.
  • Today’s school lunches meet strict nutrition standards through the USDA, including limits on calories, sodium, and unhealthy fats.
  • Schools must provide meals that meet the federal nutrition standards ensuring students can choose from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and low fat or fat free milk.
