If your child qualifies for free or reduced-price meals at school, you may also qualify for a program that offers reduced-cost internet connection at your home. About 75 percent of David Douglas families qualify for free or reduced-price school lunches. Many of them would also qualify for this program.

The Internet Essentials program through Comcast provides qualified families with low-cost, high-speed internet ($9.95 per month), with the promise that that fee will never increase. There are other benefits to the program, too, such as the option to purchase a new computer for only $150.
