Some 1,500 people are employed by the David Douglas School District. The majority, about 60%, are licensed, professional educators working in our schools with students, or are working in educational support roles or as administrators.
The other 40% of our District employees, more than 600 people, work in critical support roles such as drivers, classroom instructional assistants, custodians, office staff, cooks, technicians, and more.
Among the most urgent priorities of the District is to more broadly diversify our staff to increase representation. While about one-quarter of our staff identify as people of color, more than two-thirds of our students do.
Many David Douglas employees also live in the District, and more than 120 graduated from David Douglas High School. The District is always looking for people who love working with students and value public education to join us. Anyone interested in exploring opportunities can look here.
