Google Teach from Home Supports
Google updated its Teach from Home support website for educators and families. This site provides distance learning tips, training, and tools designed for teachers and families.

Getting Started Using Google Classroom with Students
Google Classroom is available to all staff and students in David Douglas through our Dashboard. Google Classroom is a free web service, developed by Google for schools, that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.
David Douglas has G Suite Enterprise for Education. This gives us enhanced security, more control, and robust video meetings. Rest assured that Google Classroom is secure, observing required data privacy and retention requirements.
What do I need?
- A PC/Mac/Chromebook
- An iphone or Android phone
- A tablet (ipad or Android)
- To be signed into your David Douglas District e-mail account – Dashboard

Getting Started Using Google Meet with Students
Google Meet is a video conferencing application available to all staff and students in David Douglas through our Dashboard. Google Meet allows teachers and students to connect through face-to-face web conferences.
Google Meet is incredibly user-friendly, loads inside your web browser and requires no additional software. It is compatible with most computers that have a web camera, including Mac/iOS, PC, Chromebook, and smartphones.

Using Google Meet Video with Students
Do not use the calendar invite feature in Google Calendars to schedule a Meet (Video Conference) with your students. The link generated using the Calendar invite method will remain active even after you as the presenter close the session. Kami
This is a tool that enables students to annotate text and edit documents. More specifically, students can annotate on ebooks, publisher-supplied PDFs, worksheets, use text to speech, and more. Teachers can markup, discuss and provide feedback using Kami’s text, audio, and video annotation tools. It also integrates with Google Classroom. Kami is already installed on the student accounts.

Jamboard
Jamboard is G Suite’s digital whiteboard that offers a rich collaborative experience for teams and classrooms. Watch your creativity unfold: you can create a Jam, edit it from your device, and share it with others. Everybody can collaborate on the Jam anytime, anywhere. Use Jamboard as you would any whiteboard app. Teachers can demonstrate on the Jamboard whiteboards and share them with students for collaborative whole-class discussions. Students can work in groups using Jamboard, collaborating in real time with drawings, images, and text. Students can use Jamboard as a presentation tool, too. The flexibility of the app and the integration with Google Drive make Jamboard a tool that groups can use throughout a project — from brainstorming and planning to presentation.

Padlet
Padlet is a great place for gathering ideas, sharing them and modifying them later. It’s like a living, breathing webpage. Users can add links, YouTube videos, files and images to Padlet notes. They can move and arrange them.
