Celebrating Black History Month: Feb. 8-12

Community  /  Employees  /  Students DDSD Celebrates Black History Month - Feb 8-12

To help us commemorate Black History Month, the David Douglas School District’s Staff of Color Affinity Group has put together a presentation of instructional materials that will be updated each Monday this month.

The following slides were created by Etema Banks (DDHS), Vanessa Crawley (Mill Park), Muhammad Rahman (Floyd Light), Taye Spears (Alice Ott), Kayla Thomas (Earl Boyles), and Malik White (Floyd Light). Thank you all for your amazing work! We appreciate you all so much.

David Douglas School District unequivocally affirms Black Lives Matter and supports the Black Lives Matter movement and Black History Month.

We must all commit to dismantling anti-Black racism and white supremacy at all levels within the David Douglas School District, our community, and beyond.

At the February 11th board meeting, the David Douglas School Board adopted this proclamation recognizing Black History Month.
