Celebrating Pride Month

Welcome to Pride Month, David Douglas!

Each year in June we get to celebrate our students, families, and staff who identify as LGBTQ+. Pride month is about recognizing that not all people in our country have been afforded the same privileges and freedom. We want to acknowledge the pain this has brought and move toward the joy and strength of a diverse community that values each of its members.

You are encouraged to find ways to recognize and celebrate our LGBTQ+ students, staff and community members this month. Both in schools and out, take some time this month to learn more about Pride Month, our LGBTQ+ community, and how you can support and celebrate it.

We will once again present in this space weekly slide decks to help learn more about Pride Month. Thanks to the staff from Fir Ridge Campus and Floyd Light Middle School who collaborated in creating weekly slides for our reference.

Below are slideshows filled with historical and educational information, brought to you by the great folks at Fir Ridge Campus.
