The David Douglas School Board seeks applicants to fill a pending vacancy on the Board.
Board member Donna Barber is resigning from Board Position 1, effective June 30, 2024. The School Board intends to select a replacement Board member during its July 11th Board meeting.
One year remains in the current term of office for Position 1 and expires in June 2025. The applicant selected by the Board will be sworn in on July 11. By Board Policy, the appointed Board member will serve until June 2025, which is the next election year. An election will be held in May 2025, and the winner of that election will begin a new four-year term beginning July 1.
Requirements to apply:
- Must be a resident of the David Douglas School District for at least one full year
- Must be a citizen and registered voter
Application deadline:
- Submit an application form by 5 pm, Friday, June 7.

Applicants will be asked to give a 5-minute presentation to the Board during its June 13th Board meeting, which begins at 7 pm at David Douglas School District Boardroom, 1500 SE 130th Ave. Based on the application forms and the presentations, the Board will select a replacement on July 11.
