As temperatures are expected to soar with an excessive heat warning in effect for tomorrow, Thursday, September 5th, and Friday, September 6th, our district is proactively implementing safety measures to protect both staff and students throughout the week.
Our staff will take precautions against heat illness and do their best to keep students comfortable. We encourage students to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing and bring a personal water bottle. Staff will encourage students to stay hydrated and rest when needed.
To safeguard our students and staff this week, we are taking the following steps:
- Our Facilities team has adjusted the building HVAC schedule to run through the night, allowing cool evening air to enter our buildings as much as possible.
- With this schedule in place, the dampers will partially close as temperatures rise to reduce the amount of hot air entering our buildings.
We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and school-specific conditions. If we have any updates, we will promptly notify our families. Your safety is our top priority, and we are committed to keeping you informed.
