Celebrating Women’s History Month at DDSD

March is Women’s History Month, and at David Douglas School District, we take this opportunity to recognize the extraordinary women who contribute to our schools and community every day. From our dedicated educators and staff to the inspiring students who are shaping the future, we celebrate their achievements and honor the trailblazers who have paved the way for progress. Join us throughout the month as we highlight the impact of women in education and beyond.

Music in Our Schools Month

March is also Music in Our Schools Month, a time to celebrate the incredible impact of music education. At DDSD, we recognize the importance of music programs in fostering creativity, collaboration, and academic success. From choir and band performances to music classes that inspire young minds, we honor the dedicated teachers and students who make music a vital part of our schools. Stay tuned for upcoming musical events and performances throughout the district!

Spring conferences are a great opportunity to connect with teachers, ask questions, and get a clear picture of your student’s progress. We encourage families to attend and stay engaged in their child’s learning journey.

Classified School Employee Appreciation Week: March 3-7

Our classified employees are essential to the success of our schools, ensuring that students have the resources and support they need to thrive. Whether it’s our dedicated bus drivers, nutrition services staff, instructional aides, office personnel, or custodial teams, their contributions are invaluable. We encourage our community to thank these hardworking individuals for their dedication to DDSD!

Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day: March 7

Our schools run smoothly thanks to the expertise and dedication of our maintenance workers. From keeping our buildings in top shape to ensuring safe and functional learning spaces, their work often goes unseen but is always appreciated. Let’s take this day to recognize and thank them for their incredible efforts in maintaining our school facilities.


National School Social Work Week—First week of March

At David Douglas, our school social workers provide essential support to students and families, addressing social, emotional, and academic challenges to ensure student success. Their compassionate efforts help create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all. This week, let’s show our appreciation for their unwavering commitment to our students’ well-being.


Spring Break: March 24-28

Spring Break is right around the corner! From March 24 to 28, students and staff will have the opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and refreshing break and returns ready for a strong finish to the school year!
