On Saturday, March 7, all nine David Douglas School District elementary schools participated in the Oregon Battle of Books (OBOB) Regional Competition. Our students competed against 31 different teams from across the region. These students have been studying and preparing for this event since September. They demonstrated high levels of dedication and knowledge during the regional competition.

Tournament Results

The tournament began with preliminary pool rounds for all 31 teams. Based on the highest scores, the top 16 teams moved into the bracket rounds. Six of our nine elementary schools qualified for the “Sweet 16” round. Three of our teams advanced to the “Elite 8” and “Final 4” semi-final levels. In the final championship results, David Douglas teams earned the two highest rankings in the region.

Congratulations!

We are pleased to announce the final standings for our district. Mill Park Elementary earned 1st Place and Ventura Park Elementary earned 2nd Place. Both Mill Park and Ventura Park will represent our region at the State Tournament in Salem on April 11.

We are proud of every student who participated in this event. All nine teams were prepared and showed respect for the competition and their peers. This is a significant accomplishment for our students and the David Douglas School District. Please join us in congratulating these students for their hard work and success.
