Kindergarten Registration Information

If your child turns five on or before September 1, 2026, they are eligible for kindergarten registration in the David Douglas School District.
Why register now?
Don’t wait until September to register. If you register now, it will give your school time to plan for your student’s arrival. Early registration means early access to school and district communication and early connections with your school.
Ways to register
- Online: Visit our district website to get started.
- Call your neighborhood school (offices closed during summer break).
Call your school’s office during business hours to learn more about the registration process. If English is not your home language, feel free to ask for interpretation support. We also encourage you to ask about opportunities to connect with your new school community — including events, programs, and ways to get involved, such as playground meet-ups, meal programs, and summer activities.

David Douglas High School (DDHS) Registration Information
Registration for the 2026–27 school year at David Douglas High School is just around the corner!
Date: August 27
Time: You can stop by anytime between 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Preschool Registration Information
David Douglas School District is offering free preschool at all nine elementary schools, and the high school for the 2026-2027 school year. All families residing in David Douglas are encouraged to apply.
Please note that the space is limited, and enrollment is not based on a first-come, first-served basis.
While most of our preschool classrooms are currently full, several wonderful options and new openings remain across our district:
- Preschool for All (PFA) Applications Reopened: Missed the original deadline? PFA has reopened registration for the 2026–27 school year.
- New DDHS South Campus Preschool Classroom: We still have open spots in our new high school south campus classroom for families who reside within the David Douglas catchment area and meet the income guidelines (200% or below FPL).
- Child Development Center (CDC): Now relocated to the DDHS south campus, our CDC program has full-time (5 days/week) tuition-based openings for infants and toddlers ages 0–3. Families receiving Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) and teen parents are also eligible for our CDC program.
- Double D Learning Lab: Located on the DDHS south campus, this low-cost, tuition-based program currently has openings for its 5-hour/day, 4-day/week schedule.

Staying Connected: Communication and Resources for Families
As a district, we use ParentSquare for District and school level communications. ParentSquare is designed to keep parents informed and make communicating easy. ParentSquare provides a safe and reliable way for principals, teachers, staff, and parents/guardians to communicate and share information. Through email, text, or phone messages, families can easily stay connected, read school newsletters, access district calendars, and more.

Our Family Resources page offers helpful information to support families, including child care options, health care services, food resources, housing assistance, and more. It is designed to connect you with the support you need.
