All 6th grade players must have a current physical on file at school before they may practice or play in games.

All players must have insurance.  The David Douglas School District carries no athletic insurance for Community Sports and/or Recreation programs and does not assume responsibility for injuries sustained in practice or games.  If insurance coverage for injuries is desired, such insurance coverage is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

PARENTS: David Douglas Community Sports offers you a great opportunity to VOLUNTEER TO COACH your child’s team! Whether you volunteer as a head coach, assistant coach or co-coach with another parent, this will be a rewarding experience for you to watch your player progress and learn. Coach positions are available at all schools. Experience is helpful, but not mandatory. The requirements are a no-cost criminal history background check and attendance at a free coaching clinic/demonstration to help you learn coaching techniques and strategies. Practices should be about twice a week around your schedule. Basketball games are on Saturdays. The 3rd-6th grade boys’ basketball season is from November-January and 3rd-6th grade girls’ basketball season is from January-March. Coaches also receive a ½ fee discount for one player per team. Speak with David Petersen: 503-261-8210 or  if you would like more information.
