A major demand of Freedom Dream #2, dreamt and brought to life by our DDSD Staff of Color Affinity Group, is that there will be fully operational and evaluated Equity Teams in every building. Also having been adopted into the DD Equity Plan, each school building is required to have an Equity Team.

The Building Equity Teams will:

• Commit to the David Douglas 5 Equity Essentials
• Create, coordinate, and support initiatives that result in inclusion, justice and equity in our schools
• Use data to inform decision making
• Will engage in and provide professional development for staff
• Will have a visible impact on the students and building as a whole

Each Building Equity Team will also have an Equity Chair responsible for facilitating equity work within the building.
