Welcome to the 2019-20 school year!

Our staff is busily preparing for your students’ arrival. Below you’ll find some helpful information for the new year.

Be sure to bookmark the District website and your school’s individual website. They are good resources to keep you informed throughout the year. Visit your school’s site for contact information, school procedures and important dates. Like us on Facebook to see more District stories and photos throughout the school year.

First Day of school:

Tuesday, Sept 3rd – First day of school for grades K-6, 9, 12 and new students at Fir Ridge Campus
Wednesday, Sept 4th – First day of school for grades 7-8, 10, 11 and returning Fir Ridge Students
Thursday, Sept 9th – First day for Community Transition Program

Back to School Nights (Open House)

At the beginning of each school year, every David Douglas school hosts a back to school night. These special events give parents and school staff a chance to get to know each other, have some fun, and learn the important information they will need to make the school year a success. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

School Meals

David Douglas offers both breakfast and lunch to all students in the District. There is no charge for breakfast. Lunch is $2.95 for elementary students; $3.25 for middle and high school students. Visit the Nutrition Department’s webpage for menus, nutrition information, and free or reduced price meal applications.

School Board Meetings

David Douglas School Board meetings are held at least once a month, typically on the second Thursday of the month. Often times the board will choose to hold a work session, usually on the fourth Thursday of the month. View the 2019-20 meeting schedule and learn more about the board here.

The Happenings Newsletter

Keep tabs on upcoming events with the District’s monthly newsletter. Elementary and middle school students bring the publication home with their school menu. Copies of the Happenings can also be found in school offices or on our District website.
