Our David Douglas Summer Break starts on June 15th. 

If you have any questions, our David Douglas School District Office is open throughout the summer: 

  • Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • Closed on July 4th for Independence Day

Middle School CTE CAMP:
June 25-28

get a head start on your career journey. Whether you
plan on attending college, going into the trades or are

David Douglas High School Youth Soccer Camp: August 12-15This camp is a fantastic opportunity for young players to learn from high school athletes and coaches, improve their skills, and enjoy the game of soccer in a supportive and enthusiastic environment.Registration Link
David Douglas Summer Run Club:
July 2nd
Join the David Douglas Summer Run Club! Open to all students, staff, alumni, family members, and friends, this free club promotes distance running and community wellbeing. Connect with others while enjoying summer runs. The season ends with an optional 3K race on August 30th at Wilsonville High School ($15 entry fee). Come run with usRun Club Schedule

Emergency Preparedness: Train the Trainers Workshop
Where: APANO Community Space, located at 8188 SE Division Street, Portland, OR 97206
When: Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm
Join us for an Emergency Preparedness Train the Trainers Workshop hosted by APANO. 

The workshop will be led by instructors from the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management (PBEM) in English.  We invite community members proficient in English and another language other than English to participate, empowering them to disseminate vital information in their native languages to the communities.

IRCO – Free Citizenship Classes
Tuesdays & Thursdays
Classes will provide preparation for Citizenship Process (Civics, written and
reading parts, N-400 application + ESL with a PCC Instructor).

REC. SWIM FAMILY SUMMER PASS FOR IMMEDIATE FAMILY  AND LAP SWIM PASSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Family Swim pass: $100 from July 24 – August 17, only household members

The Mobile Lunch + Play program travels to parks and apartment complexes in
East Portland to provide free meals and recreation activities to kids.

Summer Meals OregonThe Summer Food Service Program also know as “Summer Meals” is available in hundreds of communities throughout Oregon, offering free meals and snacks to ALL kids 1-18. Community summer meal programs are open to all families without paperwork, income verification, and regardless of immigration status. To receive a meal, kids can just drop in during a site’s designated meal times. Many programs also offer fun activities so kids can stay active and keep learning.Summer Meals Oregon Website

Free Book Park GiveawayJoin us this summer for our annual Park Giveaways! Starting June 28th, find us every Friday in parks across Portland where SMART will provide hundreds of free books for kids to choose from and take home. Kids can choose from books on a variety of topics and interests. Books provided will range from Birth to Middle School age levels as well as books in Spanish. Additionally, kids can enjoy free lunches and activities at all locations provided by Portland Parks and Rec!SMART Reading Website
